Selecting the right solution to Concrete Crack RepairConcrete cracks may cause very serious problems. One of the most common is water leakage. Freeze/thaw damage and corrosion of the rebar can result in structural weakness and even failure which can all be contributed to cracks and water infiltration. Now most of these problems can be economically resolved using NextStar's low pressure injection systems. It has been proven to accomplish two major purposes. One to stop water leakage and the other to maintain or even to restore design strength for slabs, construction control joints, basement and foundation walls. Controlling leaking foundations or basement walls from water infiltration of non structural problems can be best repaired with POLYURETHANE. Polyurethane has some obvious advantages. Repairing large amount of cracks or crumbling walls that may be bowed, weakened and may have shifted that are not actively leaking should be repaired with EPOXY.Epoxy will restore the design strength of the wall. Epoxies are also very good for super fine hairline cracks and useable for slab repair. Epoxies can stop future water leaks but have a much slower cure time so should not be used on an active leak. Wait until the leaking has stopped before injecting with epoxy. Epoxy repairs can be more costly than polyurethanes but provide a structural bond.
Reinforcing concrete with carbon fiber and kevlar.Foundations and other cement structures will often crack as a result of settling, soil pressure, water damage, drying shrinkage, thermal movement, or other causes. As most homeowners know, basement wall fractures are common and a fact of life. Most fractures are minor and cause few problems. However, other fractures can grow over time and cause structural integrity or, more commonly, water leakage. If the fracture is large or growing over time, simple injection techniques are not an appropriate or lasting fix. Under these circumstances, the foundation repair must stabilize the fracture, i.e.: prevent it from expanding and getting larger. To accomplish this, reinforcement and stabilization is required.
There are 6 ways in which a cement fracture in a below-grade poured wall generally moves: •Tensile/inward: due to lateral loading Read about basic procedure for repair DownLoad our Crack Guage tool PDF File
